The aim is to make Chesterfield a thriving Borough, to improve quality of life for local people, and to provide value for money for Council services. Updates were given on the Northern Gateway development, Peak Resort, Waterside, Garden Village of 1,000 houses in the Staveley/Barrow Hill area, and the latest to hit the news, the possibility of attracting Spanish railway manufacturer Talgo to build a factory in the Staveley corridor leading to 1,000 jobs, and a further 6,000 jobs in the supply chain.
