Forthcoming events


An End Polio Now sponsored walk is being organised by the Rotary Club of Sutton in Ashfield on Sunday 16 September 2018.  Any club entering just one volunteer walker will receive £350 for the cause from other sources.   


A WWI production of words and music is being held on Friday 26 October 2018 at Chesterfield Library Theatre and Chesterfield Inner Wheel is arranging a group visit for those interested.


A charity fundraising games afternoon is being organised by Chesterfield Inner Wheel at the home of president Adrienne Handley on Monday 24 September 2018 from 2.00pm.  Rotarians are invited.


Life as a TV Extra


A fascinating insight into how TV programmes are made was revealed by after-lunch speaker Mike Newbold. Since taking early retirement, he has worked for over seventeen years as a TV extra, playing a variety of roles in many of the country’s most popular TV shows, including the long-running comedy programme ‘Last of the Summer Wine’. In his interesting illustrated talk, he shared what really goes on behind the TV cameras.
