The annual tea party for local senior citizens was held at the Olde House, Newbold, on Wednesday 28 June 2017, when seventy pensioners from local residential homes enjoyed a social afternoon arranged by the Rotary Club of Chesterfield. They enjoyed an afternoon of delightful entertainment provided by former cruise ship cabaret duo, Ken and Rita Turner, with a singalong, a couple of sessions of bingo, and a traditional afternoon tea provided by the Olde House.  There was even time for a little dancing from some of the more energetic. This annual event is organised by the club's community service committee, with chairman George Freeman being the lead organiser.
