Step by Step – South Pole Energy Challenge

The after-lunch speaker was NHS Surgeon, Ghazala Ahmed-Mear, from Sheffield, who gave a fascinating insight into the serious effects of climate change and the initiatives being taken to persuade people to make a difference.  She is delighted to have been invited to join the final 60 mile stage of the South Pole Energy Challenge, which from November 2017, is setting out to walk to the South Pole using only clean energy technologies.  The message is that if the expedition can survive global warming threatened Antartica, the coldest, driest and inhospitable place on Earth, the rest of us can make similar changes, Step by Step, in our everyday lives.
